From Chaos to Clarity: Leadership, Strategy, and AI in Testing

Quality is not accidental. It emerges when leadership and purpose-driven test strategies are aligned with business goals and customer impact, and are designed to work in practice, not just look good in theory. Many testing teams are tasked with standardizing processes and improving quality while working across inherited systems, unclear leadership structures, and inconsistent project maturity. In these conditions, well intentioned strategies often fail because solutions are designed before teams fully understand the reality they are operating in.
This session shares a real-world journey of integrating testing across three distinct projects with different systems, stakeholders, and delivery models. It will describe how leadership, test strategy, and process design evolved together by first documenting the current state, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and building a unified vision without forcing uniformity. This session then demonstrates how AI was used as an accelerator rather than a replacement for this work. Sylvia will show how prompt design and domain expertise helped teams translate complex ideas into practical, actionable approaches that work in real-world environments. Rather than relying on AI to do the work, the session explores how to ask better questions and apply testing knowledge to turn AI into a powerful collaborator.
