Se7en: 7 Deadly Sins of DevOps Transformations

In this presentation inspired by the movie Se7en, Bjorn Boisschot will be your personal detective and will guide you from the tortured remains of one company to the next as they have suffered from the 7 deadly sins of DevOps transformations. Bjorn will start with the sin of “utter team autonomy and freedom” and the project chaos resulting from it. Next up is the most beautiful sin of them all: “it’s all about the tools, our company culture is perfect”. The remaining 5 sins will be unveiled during his session. By providing you with some real-life examples and stories, you will be able to recognize yourself when your company is sinning. He will also provide practical tips & tricks on how to prevent these sins in your company and how to cope with them if they arise. Join Bjorn on this horror story and discover how the story ends. Takeaways:
• DevOps is about more than just tools & automation
• Key concepts and practices of a DevOps culture
• How to recognize one of the 7 deadly sins and cope with it

Bjorn Boisschot is an IT professional with more than 15 years’ experience in quality assurance and how this fits into the software development cycle. One of the things I love most is to be on stage (at customers or conferences) and talk about my experiences. I have done this at several testing related congresses such as Eurostar 2019 & 2020, Eurostar Online Best Of 2020, TestCon Moscow 2020, TestCon Vilnius 2020, AgileTD 2020, ExpoQA Warshaw 2019, ExpoQA Madrid, Begian Testing Days, Microfocus Discover, Experience Day and many internal CTG events. My presentation (DevOps Test Alone) at Eurostar 2019 was rated as the best presentation at the event with a score of 9,27/10. My latest presentation (How to pitch and value testing properly in the age of DevOps) was rated as one of the top 10 sessions of AgileTD 2020 congress.
